Advent Word/Day Thirteen

My daddy loved a good fire; whether it was in a fireplace, a wood burning stove, or outside/a campfire. If there was the slightest chill in the air, he would build a fire. Trever is the same way (in fact, I swiped this picture he took last year at the cabin.)
Looking back, I think I have always had a fear of fire because of the hell fire and brimstone doctrine I heard growing up. As I have begun deconstructing and reframing my faith over the last few years, I have come to appreciate fire for its light, its warmth, and even its cleansing attributes. And I I have come to appreciate love, hope, and joy of my faith over fear.
