Advent Word/Day 16

The definition of wilderness is an uncultivated, uninhabited, and inhospitable region. But the wilderness of the Bible goes beyond a geographical location to represent isolation, fear and separation from God.

When I hear the word wilderness I often think of the forest or the woods. I think of a place that is wild and untamed, but also a place that can be peaceful and quiet. Where solitude can renew and nature can revive. So when we feel a bit lost in the wilderness, it may be an opportunity to reset and find our footing again, even if we don’t quite know which direction we are going.
