Month of GratitudeDay 3 I am grateful for internet friends that share my values and ideals even if we don’t know each other “IRL”. It helps very much to have groups to go to for support and encouragement. Karri Temple BrackettNovember 3, 2020

Month of GratitudeDay 2 During this pandemic year, more than ever before, I am grateful for technology Both Trever and I can work from home as needed, the girls can attend classes, we can access worship services via social media and I have even found volunteer opportunities from the comfort (and safety!) of my home.
Month of Gratitude 2020Day 1 This weekend we spent Halloween at what I still think of as “my parents’ cabin” in north Arkansas. They bought this cabin in 2018 and totally renovated it; my dad even built a “man cave” that we call the little cabin at the bottom of the property. Sadly, he passed
This morning I got up before seven, made pancakes, and dropped Abby off at her high school for quite possibly the last time. She was scheduled to take the ACT test and we decided it would be easier for me to drop her off than for her to have to find a space, park, etc…

Regardless of what the calendar says, summertime in Arkansas starts in late May and usually is marked by the end of the school year and the beginning of vacation season. This year, obviously, is quite different but, hey we still have to eat! Monday, June 1st, I cooked a
Father’s Day 2020 I told myself I wasn’t going to grieve today. Then I realized that love, and memories, and grief are all intertwined in a knot that cannot possibly be untangled by sheer will. But above all, today, in this moment, I am thankful. I am thankful for forty six years of having a
I have decided to continue on with “documenting our dinners” (and occasional breakfasts); if nothing else, I can look back and remind myself of recipe ideas…many are repeats but I will link to a recipe here and there if I find something shareable. May 1st fell on a Friday….we had started doing carryout on Fridays
