The “Art” of Togetherness

Month of Gratitude
Day Two

Three Generations

After a rainy week, this Saturday was forecast to be a beautiful and clear day, and I wanted to get out for a drive to check out the fall foliage. Sarah and I had been talking for quite some time about making a return visit to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville. I mentioned our plans in passing in a text to my mom Friday evening and she said she would like to come with us; the three of us left bright and early at 8 this morning for our impromptu day trip. Although we didn’t see many blazing displays of color (it just isn’t a good year for fall foliage here in AR) we had a great time visiting on the drive to and from Bentonville, seeing a wide variety of artwork from the traditional to the somewhat bizarre, and having a late lunch at the restaurant Eleven. The time we spent together is the focus of my gratitude for today.
