Home Sweet Home

Day Six of Spring Break 2022

Today was strictly a travel day. We got on the road a little after 9:00, stopped a couple of times for gas, lunch, and breaks and were home by 6:30. It’s always good to be home after a trip!

The following are pictures all the way from the driveway of the rental in Amarillo to our driveway at home:

A few of the highlights and things we will remember from this week:

Cats – both real and stuffed. Abby brought along a beanie baby she calls Little Cat and he was the topic of many conversations. The girls were always on cat watch – this guy was in downtown Amarillo but when we were driving around Erick, there were cats everywhere!

Turkeys – both wild and ?tame? – we had seen a flock of wild turkeys outside of town In Erick (look closely) and then saw this guy in someone’s back yard.

Cows – Kate and Ringo were a really fun addition to our trip. Abby may now be a vegetarian.

The WIND. Y’all…that wind was brutal. Bad hair day e’ery day. Quotes from the day we visited Palo Duro Caynon. Sarah: “don’t worry I brought eyeglash glue in case ours fly away.” Abby: “I am not made for wind.”

The laughs and the memories. We may fuss, we may fight, we may get really tired of each other. But overall, we do enjoy spending time together as a family and I am very grateful for these memories.
